Thanks Germany and Sweden. Netherlands, here we come!

Visiting airports is starting to become something of a habit.  But not an entirely unpleasant one.

Last week, we jetted off to Stockholm and Hamburg.  This week, it’s The Netherlands, as the CA Gen seminar tour arrives in its next destination – Utrecht.

Jumar’s Paul Hughes is whizzing across Europe to present at these popular events – and if the feedback from the first two is anything to go by, this week’s event (expected to be the biggest of the tour so far) is set to be an interesting forum for CA Gen users to share their thoughts.

The topic of Paul’s presentation is modernisation through automation – and, it has already generated some interesting discussions among the CA Gen community.

It was also fascinating to compare notes with a major international shipping firm, which is undergoing a migration from COBOL to Java – and making considerable savings in the process.  Also on the agenda has been a presentation by CA about the direction of CA Gen over the coming years, and their roadmap for the product up to and including 2016.

The news of CA’s newly appopinted Product Manager, Patty Bowman, was also well received.

So, with only a few minutes until our next plane takes off from Birmingham Airport, a few finishing touches are being put to the presentation, ahead of tomorrow’s event.  Coffee, laptop, departure lounge – not a bad office space, if we’re absolutely honest.

Next week, it’s London – so no flying involved.  If you’re going, please let us know.  It’ll be great to see you there.

We appreciate that it’s not easy for everyone who whats to attend, to get to the seminars, so – as ever, we’re more than happy to come to you.  Please drop us a line or call +44 (0) 121 788 4550 and we’ll arrange a visit.
